Twinsburg (Ohio) surprised No. 41
Brunswick (Ohio) 26-14 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Tyrone McGuinea in the first quarter, the Tigers led 20-7 at the half.
Twinsburg saw its 13-point halftime lead fall to 12 entering the fourth.
Dan Yohman made a difference for the Blue Devils. The senior quarterback threw two touchdowns. His performance brought his touchdown total to six on the year.
McGuinea was the top performer for THS. The senior running back ran for two touchdowns.
The Tigers came in allowing an average of 24.7 points per game this season. Twinsburg held firm on the defensive front, and kept Brunswick well below the 27.3 points it had been averaging per game.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 42-21 win for THS.
In a Northeast Ohio - Valley game next week Brunswick (4-3) takes on Strongsville, and Twinsburg (4-3) will go up against Solon also in a Northeast Ohio - Valley game.
