Softball Recap: East Central Continues Road Dominance on Saturday

East Central had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Rushville on Saturday. The Trojans were the clear victors by an 18-8 margin over the Lions. The win continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won four in a row.

Rose Yunger looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, East Central got a massive performance out of Avery Seal, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Seal a new career-high. Charlie Scully also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

East Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are 9-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

East Central's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Rushville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.

East Central has already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Connersville on the 12th. As for Rushville, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-0 defeat against Greensburg on the 12th.
