Softball Game Preview: Blue Ridge Raiders vs. Forest City Foresters

The Blue Ridge Raiders will face off against the Forest City Foresters at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Last Monday, Blue Ridge didn't have quite enough to beat Carbondale Area and fell 7-6. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hailey Carpenetti made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. That stolen base was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Abby Piechocki, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Forest City and Mountain View, and Forest City kept the tradition alive. The Foresters walked away with a 10-5 victory over the Eagles on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Foresters in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won five in a row.

Blue Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Forest City, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Blue Ridge came up short against Forest City in their previous matchup back in April of 2021, falling 4-1. Can the Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
