Softball Recap: Woodside Comes Up Short

If Woodside was riding high fresh off their 10-0 takedown of Aragon on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the King's Academy Knights on Thursday. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Knights earlier this season, when they won 13-5.

Hannah Walker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks.

Woodside's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for King's Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Woodside will challenge Hillsdale at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Fighting Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for King's Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Branham at 4:00 p.m.
