Softball Recap: Mill Creek Starts Season with Victory at Home

Mill Creek took care of business in their home opener on Friday (and then some). They were the clear victor by an 11-3 margin over the Cherokee Bluff Bears. The victory was some much needed relief for the Hawks as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Alaina Lyons was incredible, going 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Haley Barrett, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Mill Creek will venture away from home to take on Lambert at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cherokee Bluff, they will head out to challenge North Oconee at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cherokee Bluff is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
