Softball Recap: South Sioux City Wins Going Away Against Burke

South Sioux City's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Burke Bulldogs with a sharp 12-4 win. The Cardinals have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.

Mila Garvey was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. Keyana Weaver was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

South Sioux City's victory bumped their record up to 5-21. As for Burke, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.

South Sioux City will be playing at home against O'Neill on Tuesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Cardinals surely won't give up without a fight. As for Burke, they will head out on the road to face off against Bennington at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
