Preview: Hamilton County Trojans vs. Branford Buccaneers
The Hamilton County Trojans will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Branford Buccaneers at 7:30 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Hamilton County's three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 27-13 win over Trenton. The victory was just what Hamilton County needed coming off of a 41-7 loss in their prior matchup.
Meanwhile, Branford put the finishing touches on their fourth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Bishop McLaughlin Catholic 40-0 on the road. The win was nothing new for Branford as they're now sitting on three straight.
Among those leading the charge was Trevor Maddox, who rushed for 187 yards on only 15 carries. Another player making a difference was Thomas Sikes, who threw for 113 yards and two touchdowns.
Hamilton County's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Branford, their victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 6-2.
Hamilton County was taken down by Branford 36-0 when the teams last played back in November of 2022. Thankfully for Hamilton County, Caden Coker (who rushed for 205 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.3 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
