Marlboro County had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.7 points) and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 62-44 victory over the Scotland Fighting Scots. The Bulldogs pushed the score to 53-31 by the end of the third, a deficit the Fighting Scots cut but never quite recovered from.

Leading Marlboro County to victory were Ralphier Monroe and Isiah Whitner. Monroe posted 13 points, while Whitner had 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Johnson, who put up nine points.

Marlboro County pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Scotland, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Marlboro County will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Aynor at 7:30 p.m. on January 10, 2025. Marlboro County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Aynor likes a good challenge. As for Scotland, they are taking a road trip to square off against Woodland at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
