Eastside has gone 9-1 against Churubusco recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Blazers will host the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Eastside and Angola meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Monday. The Blazers blew past the Hornets 11-3. The result was nothing new for the Blazers, who have now won five matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Churubusco can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Prairie Heights as they made off with a 13-3 win. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Aaron Norris and Dawson Gump did most of the damage at the plate: Norris went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI, while Gump went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave Norris a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bransen Hart, who went 3-for-4 with three runs.

Churubusco always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Eastside has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Churubusco, their win bumped their record up to 3-8.

Eastside took their victory against Churubusco in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 15-1 score. Do the Blazers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
