Recap: Charles Henderson Trojans vs. Headland Rams
The Charles Henderson Trojans fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They blew past Headland 35-14. The result was nothing new for Charles Henderson, who have now won six matches by 20 points or more so far this season.
Charles Henderson got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Zach Coleman out in front who rushed for 35 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 57 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Jywon Boyd, who gained 113 total yards and two touchdowns.
Charles Henderson's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Zamir Caffie and his two sacks.
Despite the loss, Headland still got an impressive performance from Jaxon Williams, who rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, and also threw for 120 yards and a touchdown.
Charles Henderson is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Headland, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.
Charles Henderson will play host again and welcome Selma, where Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Selma will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 267th, while Charles Henderson is ranked 49th). As for Headland, they will head out on the road to face off against New Brockton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
