MaxPreps previews some of the top matchups in the nation this weekend.

Wayne (Huber Heights, Ohio) at Archbishop Moeller (Cincinnati)

Why it's big: This is a rematch of a Division I state semifinal game won by Wayne last season. The Warriors fell short in the championship game the next week against St. Edward, but figure to be in the hunt again this year with the arrival of senior quarterback Messiah Deweaver. The Michigan State-committed three-star prospect had over 1,600 passing yards and 24 touchdowns leading nearby Trotwood-Madison last season.

Moeller (1-0) also has a new starting quarterback who is committed to an FBS school. Although he sat behind a senior last season, Thomas MacVittie displayed enough skill and potential to be offered a scholarship by Pittsburgh, which he accepted. The 6-foot-4, 210-pounder is rated three stars by 247Sports as a dual-threat prospect.

Names to watch: On the other side of the ball from Deweaver, Wayne (1-0) has one of Ohio's top cornerback prospects in Tobias Gilliam. The three-star recruit has verbally committed to Kentucky. Also watch for ascending junior slot receiver Matthew Wilcox, who was Wayne's leading receiver in a 38-0 win against Canada Prep Football Academy last week.

MacVittie has the luxury of throwing to 6-5, 235-pound senior Jake Hausmann, the nation's third-rated tight end prospect by 247Sports. The Ohio State commit caught two passes in Moeller's 21-19 win over Indianapolis Cathedral last week.
