Basketball Recap: Grace Academy Victorious

Grace Academy posted their closest win since January 23, 2024 on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Calvary Christian Academy 43-40. The 43-point effort marked the Knights' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Several Calvary Christian Academy players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Geren Knight, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards. That was a full 35% of Calvary Christian Academy's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Nathan Strachan, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

The win snapped Grace Academy's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-3 record. As for Calvary Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Faith Christian Academy the next time they take the court. Grace Academy will host Faith Christian Academy at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Calvary Christian Academy will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
