Football Recap: Calera Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Cayden Specks and Drew Majewski + How To Watch

Calera had lost five straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-5 to make it six. They received a blow as they fell 42-25 to the Chelsea Hornets. Eagles fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Hornets since Friday.

Calera's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Drew Majewski, who threw for 208 yards and three TDs while completing 76.2% of his passes, and Cayden Specks, who picked up 104 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

As for Chelsea, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their seven-point performance the game before.

Chelsea had a senior duo take command as Chase Malone gained 225 total yards and three touchdowns and Morgan Barnes gained 122 total yards and three touchdowns. Barnes also set a new season-high mark in rushing touchdowns with three.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calera will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Brookwood at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. As for Chelsea, they will challenge Paul W. Bryant at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets will be up against the Stampede's rather soft defense (which has allowed 31.75 points per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
