Recap: Chevak Comets vs. Hooper Bay Warriors
The Chevak Comets lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on on Friday was a bit more commanding. They took a serious blow against Hooper Bay, falling 71-43. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Chevak has scored all season.
Hooper Bay had a senior duo take command as Carson Long scored 28 points and Latrell Lake scored 24 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Long has scored at least a third of Hooper Bay's points. Billy Smith was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Chevak dropped their record down to 12-12 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Hooper Bay, the victory (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 21-2.
Chevak does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Hooper Bay also has no future games currently scheduled.
