The Deer Creek-Mackinaw Chiefs will be playing at home against the Havana Ducks at 4:30  p.m. Both teams come into the  matchup bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
 Last Tuesday,  everything went Deer Creek-Mackinaw's way against Richwoods as Deer Creek-Mackinaw made off with  an  18-8 victory.
  Kenzie Knowles was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She  struck out 12 batters over  5.2 innings while giving up  three earned  (and one unearned) runs off   three  hits. Knowles was also big at the plate,  scoring three  runs and  stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
 In other batting news,  Ally McDaniel was  incredible,  scoring two  runs and  stealing three bases while going 3-for-5. Another player making a difference was  Kate Schmidgall, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 1-for-4.
 Meanwhile, Havana came into Tuesday's   game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Pleasant Plains  on Tuesday and snuck past  5-4. The  win was just what Havana needed coming off of  a  10-0 defeat in their prior  contest.
 The  victory  got Deer Creek-Mackinaw back to even at 1-1. As for Havana, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
 Deer Creek-Mackinaw couldn't quite finish off Havana in their previous matchup  back in March of 2023 and fell  4-2. Thankfully for Deer Creek-Mackinaw,  Taryn Wickman (who   tossed four innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   three  hits (she also didn't allow any  walks)) won't be suiting up this time.
