Basketball Recap: Bear River Falls to West Field in First Game of Season

Bear River unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the West Field Longhorns by a score of 44-42 on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bears of the 51-39 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.

Bear River's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Maylee Higley, who posted 14 points, and Samantha Theurer, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds.

Bear River wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 43-38 victory against South Summit on the 21st. As for West Field, they have also already played their next matchup, a 50-46 defeat against Mountain View on the 21st.
