Baseball Recap: Whites Creek's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Whites Creek). They put the hurt on the Kenwood Knights with a sharp 15-6 victory on Wednesday.

Jayvin McGee made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched four innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. McGee was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Whites Creek let Johnathan Scales and Andnevin Huff run wild. Scales scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Huff got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave Huff a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Walterion Frierson, who scored a run and stole four bases.

Whites Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kenwood only posted an OBP of .478.

Whites Creek's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2. As for Kenwood, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Knights beat Whites Creek by a score of 8-2 later that day.
