Baseball Game Preview: Wagner Thunderbirds vs. Boerne-Champion Chargers

Wagner hasn't had much luck against Boerne-Champion recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Thunderbirds will head out on the road to square off against the Chargers at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Wagner came up short against Smithson Valley on Friday, falling 9-3.

Wagner saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adrian Flores, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2. The Thunderbirds are 2-1 when Flores posts two or more runs, but 4-15 otherwise.

Meanwhile, Boerne-Champion fell victim to New Braunfels and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Unicorns. The Chargers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Boerne-Champion's defeat dropped their record down to 18-7. As for Wagner, their loss dropped their record down to 6-16.

Wagner might still be hurting after the 9-1 defeat they got from Boerne-Champion in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can the Thunderbirds avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
