Softball Game Preview: Atascadero Greyhounds vs. Golden West Trailblazers

The Atascadero Greyhounds will take on the Golden West Trailblazers at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. Atascadero has given up an average of 9.8 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last five times Atascadero and Templeton have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Thursday. The Greyhounds lost 17-7 to the Eagles.

Samantha Bedell made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylee Pryor, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Golden West's offense. They came up short against Redwood on Thursday, falling 16-0. The loss continues a trend for the Trailblazers in their meetings with the Rangers: they've now lost seven in a row.

Golden West's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 9-6-1. As for Atascadero, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.

Atascadero might still be hurting after the 14-6 defeat they got from Golden West in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can the Greyhounds avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
