Volleyball Recap: Gorham Fayette Eagles vs. Edon Bombers

Gorham Fayette was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat. They came up short against the Edon Bombers, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bombers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on September 4th.

The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-18, 25-14.

Kennedy Kunkle paced Gorham Fayette's offense, picking up three kills. Kunkle got some help from Kelsie Storrs and her eight assists. Kayla Sliwinski controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Genna Ripke had an outrageously good game for Edon as she had 22 assists and 12 digs. Ripke is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 18 or more in each of the last 13 games she's played. Ella Osborn was another key player, getting 13 digs and one assist.

Gorham Fayette's loss dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Edon, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Gorham Fayette will square off against rival Montpelier at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Edon is set to face off against their familiar foe Holgate at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
