Softball Recap: Northridge Comes Up Short

Northridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Bountiful RedHawks, falling 19-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the RedHawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-1 last Friday.

Kiersten Carbone was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season.

Northridge's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Bountiful, the victory (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 14-1.

Coming up, Northridge is taking a road trip to square off against Viewmont at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season. As for Bountiful, they will welcome Cyprus at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pirates' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the RedHawks' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
