Baseball Recap: Hilton Head Christian Academy Has No Trouble Against Savannah Country Day

After losing to Savannah Country Day the last time they met, Hilton Head Christian Academy decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Hilton Head Christian Academy Eagles came out on top against the Savannah Country Day Hornets by a score of 9-4 on Tuesday. That five run margin sets a new team best for the Eagles this season.

Colt Spargur looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jackson Richardson, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (three). Another player making a difference was Roman Colella, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three RBI and one double.

Hilton Head Christian Academy now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Savannah Country Day, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hilton Head Christian Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hilton Head Island at 6:30 p.m. on March 10th. As for Savannah Country Day, they will challenge Camden County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
