East Carteret has gone 9-1 against Southside recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The East Carteret Mariners will square off against the Southside Seahawks at 7:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

East Carteret is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 58 points on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Lejeune on Wednesday. They took a blow against the Devil Pups, falling 69-30. The match marked the Mariners' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Southside suffered their biggest loss since January 3rd on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Lejeune and fell 80-46. The Seahawks have struggled against the Devil Pups recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

East Carteret will have to contain Josh Armstrong as he made an impact in Southside's last game. He posted 15 points and five rebounds. Armstrong has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Satchell, who earned 12 points.

Even though they lost, Southside smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive games.

East Carteret has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Southside, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-14.

East Carteret couldn't quite finish off Southside when the teams last played last Wednesday and fell 63-61. Can East Carteret avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
