Ray made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Corpus Christi Moody, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Ray Texans blew past the Corpus Christi Moody Trojans 18-8 on Saturday. The Texans' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Ray got a massive performance out of Sarina Gomez, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one double. The dominant performance gave Gomez a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Kailey Benavides, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Ray always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Ray and bumps their season record up to 6-12. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Corpus Christi Moody, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.

Looking ahead, Ray will venture away from home to square off against Carroll at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ray will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last. As for Corpus Christi Moody, they will welcome Alice at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
