Soccer Recap: Garfield Comes Up Short

Garfield was the 2-1 winner over South East when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Garfield Bulldogs lost 4-0 to the South East Jaguars on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 242nd, while the Jaguars are ranked 25th).

With the loss, Garfield broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-2. As for South East, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Garfield will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Huntington Park at 4:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025. As for South East, they wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next match, a 5-3 loss against Birmingham on the 14th.
