Softball Recap: Avery County Snaps 12-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Owen, Avery County was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They put the hurt on the Happy Valley Warriors with a sharp 13-1 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Vikings needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Avery County's win ended a 12-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-9. As for Happy Valley, they dropped their record down to 0-12 with the loss, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Avery County will host Mountain Heritage at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Happy Valley, they will head out to challenge Johnson County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors will also cruise into their next match with the timing on their side: the Longhorns will have lost eight straight heading into Tuesday's game.
