Football Game Preview: Augusta Christian Lions vs. Ben Lippen Falcons + Official Tickets

For the first time this season, Augusta Christian will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They are taking a road trip to challenge the Ben Lippen Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Augusta Christian will be strutting in after a win while Ben Lippen will be coming in after a defeat.

Augusta Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They strolled past Georgia School for Innovation & Classics with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 14-0. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Lions' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 458th, while the Patriots are ranked ninth).

Harris Janik had a dynamite game, rushing for 207 yards and one score while picking up 10.9 yards per carry, and also throwing for 61 yards and one touchdown. Those 207 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Augusta Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 269 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive matchups.

Augusta Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Hampton Whitfield and Jackson Stickel.

Meanwhile, Ben Lippen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were dealt a 37-0 defeat at the hands of Hammond.

Augusta Christian's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-10. As for Ben Lippen, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Augusta Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over Ben Lippen when the teams last played back in November of 2024, winning 17-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
