Football Recap: Narbonne Comes Up Short

Narbonne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Santa Paula Cardinals, falling 34-8.

Santa Paula found their leader in sophomore Rene Vega, who threw for 290 yards and four TDs on only 17 passes. The Cardinals' leading receiver Sebastian Mendez was Vega's top target yet again, picking up 123 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Narbonne's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Santa Paula, their win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Narbonne will square off against King/Drew at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Santa Paula, they will welcome Carpinteria at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
