Basketball Game Preview: West Sabine Tigers vs. Chireno Owls

The West Sabine Tigers are taking a road trip to challenge the Chireno Owls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, West Sabine earned a 47-40 win over Woden.

Meanwhile, Chireno entered their tilt with Corrigan-Camden on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 36-25. Given the Owls' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 524th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 1458th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

West Sabine's record is now 5-10. As for Chireno, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-7.

West Sabine came up short against Chireno in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 53-47. Can West Sabine avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
