Basketball Recap: Deer River Gets the Win

While Deer River didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 59-49 victory over the East Central Eagles on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Warriors, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Deer River's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for East Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

When Deer River and East Central next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Deer River will try to stop Bigfork's six-game winning streak when the meet at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, East Central will square off against Barnum and their five-game winning streak at 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
