AA District 14 recap Oct. 9, 2012
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Liberty Tech Magnet, who took down 184th ranked Jackson South Side, 30-7.
The Crusaders moved up to 160 from 195 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in AA District 14. A 30-7 win over the Hawks helped Liberty Tech Magnet improve its standing.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Lexington takes on second place Jackson Central Merry. Last week, Lexington bested Chester County, while Jackson Central Merry beat McNairy Central.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when the Cougars take on the Tigers. Jackson Central Merry's offense has recorded 192 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while Lexington has permitted only 81 on the year.
Bolivar Central was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from eighth to sixth in AA District 14. The Tigers defeated Fayette Ware 44-12 earlier in the week.
