It's playoff time, and Westerville South had no trouble coming through when it counted. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Briggs Bruins a 13-0 shutout on Friday. The Wildcats' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Westerville South got a great performance from Nate Bury-Hays as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over 4.2 innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave Bury-Hays a new career-high.

At the plate, AJ Clark was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Chase Crawford was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Westerville South always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win snapped Westerville South's losing streak at six games and leaves them with a 8-16 record. As for Briggs, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-7.
