Baseball Recap: Archbishop Wood Now 6-2 over Last Eight Games

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Archbishop Wood had no problem doing just that on Sunday. They blew past the St. Joseph's Prep Hawks 7-1. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Richie Bayachek tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over 5.1 innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Chase Cavallaro, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. Sebastian McNab was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Archbishop Wood has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for St. Joseph's Prep, they now have a losing record of 10-11.

As of now, neither Archbishop Wood nor the Hawks have any future games scheduled.
