Tanque Verde lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Payson, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's game. Tanque Verde's pitcher stepped up to hand Payson a 16-0 shutout on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won six matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Remi Johnson was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mikaela Jackson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4.

Tanque Verde hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in seven consecutive contests.

Tanque Verde's win bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Payson, they moved to 5-2 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
