Football Recap: Hoover Comes Up Short

Hoover and Madison pushed the score to 47-12 the last time they played Madison, but on Saturday defenses reigned supreme. The Cardinals and the Warhawks were almost perfectly matched up, but the Cardinals suffered an 8-7 defeat. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warhawks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Hoover and nudges their season record down to 1-2. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 14 points in those games. As for Madison, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Hoover has already played their next match, an 8-7 loss against Mission Bay on the 23rd. As for Madison, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-6 draw against Morse on the 23rd.
