Softball Recap: Farrington Triumphs

Farrington's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Waipahu Marauders, sneaking past 29-28. The victory continues a trend for the Governors in their matchups with the Marauders: they've now won three in a row.

Manaea Emelio was a standout: she scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5. Trinity Lasit was another key player, scoring six runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all six of her plate appearances.

Farrington always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Farrington's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Waipahu, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Farrington will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Kailua at 10:00 a.m. on April 12. As for Waipahu, they will challenge 'Aiea at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
