Softball Recap: Pima Takes a Loss

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three contests, Pima finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They lost 12-2 to the Willcox Cowboys. If the Roughriders were looking for revenge after losing 24-9 to the Cowboys when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Pima saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Birdie Smart, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Those two hits gave Smart a new career-high.

Pima's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Willcox, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-7.

Pima wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 12-8 loss against Chandler Prep on the 28th. As for Willcox, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 17-16 win against Morenci on the 27th.
