Softball Game Preview: Cherokee Chiefs vs. Seneca Golden Eagles

Cherokee is a perfect 4-0 against Seneca since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Chiefs will welcome the Golden Eagles at 3:45 p.m. Seneca took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Cherokee, who comes in off a win.

Cherokee's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They came out on top against Cherry Hill East by a score of 4-0.

The result came thanks to Cali Taylor's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 15 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Cherokee saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Allison Cunane, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Meanwhile, Seneca came up short against Cherry Hill West on Monday and fell 6-2. The Golden Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cherokee has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Seneca, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Cherokee beat Seneca 5-2 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Do the Chiefs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Golden Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
