Softball Recap: Germantown Mavericks vs. Kosciusko Whippets
Germantown managed to slip by Kosciusko the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Germantown Mavericks lost 12-5 to the Kosciusko Whippets on Friday. The Mavericks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Whippets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.
Germantown saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Julia Glasgow, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Mollie Haley was another, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.
This is the second loss in a row for Germantown and nudges their season record down to 4-2. As for Kosciusko, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Coming up, Germantown will look to defend their home field on Monday against Warren Central at 6:30 p.m. Germantown has given up an average of 6.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Kosciusko, they are taking a road trip to square off against Louisville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Louisville knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Kosciusko likes a good challenge.
