Holy Cross proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 11) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Haddonfield Bulldawgs 10-9. Winning may never get old, but the Lancers sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Emily Cannon was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. Cannon was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jayla Bullock, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Alana McCormick, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one triple.
Holy Cross' record now sits at 7-16. As for Haddonfield, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season.
