The Eastern View offense has been a force to be reckoned with this season, and last week was no different. Everything went its way against Henry as it secured a 54 - 6 win. The MaxPreps rankings were spot on as they projected Eastern View as the clear winner. The victory also thrust it into the power rankings, where the team now holds the 23rd spot.
Can't Touch This
Eleanor Roosevelt's 34 - 7 win over Flowers last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior Elisha McDonald. McDonald rushed for 196 yards and two touchdowns. That performance landed McDonald among the top power-ranked players for the week.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of the hottest tickets last week involved the clash between Our Lady of Good Counsel (ranked 2nd in MD) and Gonzaga (ranked 5th in DC). Our Lady of Good Counsel was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as it fell 24 - 17 to Gonzaga. Despite the defeat, Our Lady of Good Counsel maintained its position in the power rankings.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between St. John's (1st in the power rankings) and Gonzaga (5th). Both teams are entering with last-week wins under their belts. Only one team will win this week, so we'll see which team fails to repeat its success.
