Softball Game Preview: Alisal Trojans vs. Palma Chieftains

The Alisal Trojans will venture away from home to face off against the Palma Chieftains at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Alisal will be strutting in after a victory while Palma will be coming in after a defeat.

Alisal will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Rancho San Juan on Thursday. Alisal was the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over Rancho San Juan. With that win, the Trojans brought their scoring average up to 7 runs per game.

Micah Smith was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and one triple. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Aaliyah Ruiz was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Alisal always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Palma came up short against Pacific Grove on Tuesday and fell 8-4. The game marked the Chieftains' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Analysia Rocha was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Ashlyn Urmanita, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Alisal's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Palma, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
