Basketball Game Preview: Mansfield Summit Jaguars vs. Centennial Spartans

The Mansfield Summit Jaguars will venture away from home to challenge the Centennial Spartans at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Mansfield Summit is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.

It was a proper cat-fight when Mansfield Summit challenged Seguin on Tuesday. Mansfield Summit claimed a resounding 70-25 victory over Seguin. The Jaguars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Centennial ended up a good deal behind Cleburne on Tuesday and lost 57-38. The Spartans were down 50-22 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Mansfield Summit's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Centennial, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-16.

Mansfield Summit strolled past Centennial when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a score of 56-37. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mansfield Summit since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
