Softball Recap: Deming Comes Up Short

If Deming was riding high fresh off their 12-5 takedown of Bernalillo last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats lost 14-3 to the Organ Mountain Knights on Friday. The Wildcats have struggled against the Knights recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Deming saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaylin Holguin, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Deming's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Organ Mountain, they pushed their record up to 10-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Coming up, Deming will venture away from home to take on Chaparral at 5:00 p.m. on April 6. The Lobos have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.73 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Organ Mountain, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Gadsden at 7:00 p.m. The Knights will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least ten runs in their last five games.
