Baseball Recap: Snow Canyon Takes Down Uintah in a Playoff Battle

Snow Canyon had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Uintah Utes a 10-0 shutout on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won 13 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Snow Canyon got a great performance from Zach Beck as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ledger Shipp, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Cael Johnson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Snow Canyon's victory bumped their record up to 19-6. As for Uintah, they moved to 14-14 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Snow Canyon will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Utes: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 12:00 p.m. on Friday.
