Softball Game Preview: Winterset Huskies vs. Carlisle Wildcats

Winterset is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Carlisle is on a 14-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Huskies will welcome the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Ten must be Winterset's lucky number: they beat Knoxville with that score not once but twice on Saturday. The Huskies were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over the Panthers.

Meanwhile, Carlisle never let their opponents score on Saturday. Everything went their way against Ballard as they made off with a 16-0 win.

Carlisle is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Winterset, their win bumped their record up to 12-7.
