Basketball Preview: Northeast Academy Eagles vs. Albemarle School Colts
The Northeast Academy Eagles will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against the Albemarle School Colts at 6:35 p.m. on February 5th. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Friday, Northeast Academy had to suffer through a rough 67-18 loss at the hands of the Raiders. Northeast Academy has not had much luck with the Raiders recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Despite the loss, Northeast Academy had strong showings from Judson Smith, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds, and Mason Vann, who scored no points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Albemarle School, who are still winless after their 22nd contest. They were dealt a 80-19 defeat at the hands of Lawrence Academy on Friday. Albemarle School was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 52-9.
Northeast Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Albemarle School, they dropped their record down to 0-22 with that defeat, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.
Northeast Academy strolled past the Colts in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 73-57. The rematch might be a little tougher for Northeast Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
