            Softball Recap: Fairmont Cardinals vs. Worthington Trojans        
        
		
        
        
            Fairmont had taken Worthington down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end  on Tuesday. The Cardinals took  a  7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans. The loss was the Cardinals' first of the season.

 Brylee Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered seven  runs (all of which were unearned)  on four hits and racked up nine Ks. Those nine  strikeouts set a new season-high mark for  her.
 On the hitting side, Fairmont saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Lexi Sundeen, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-2. That  stolen base marked the first that  Sundeen  snagged this season.
Having lost for the first time  this season, Fairmont  fell to 3-1. As for Worthington, their victory was  their third straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 3-2.
 Coming up, Fairmont will challenge Pipestone at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Worthington, they will head out to  square off against New Ulm  at 5:30  p.m.  on Thursday.
