After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Ariton, Normal West was happy to have turned things around  on Wednesday. They blew past the Gibson County Pioneers 11-1. That looming  11-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Wildcats yet this  season.
 Ty Bachman looked comfortable as he  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only  one  hit over four innings pitched.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Sean Jenkins, who  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in all three of his plate appearances. Those  stolen bases marked the first that  he  snagged this season. Another player making a difference was  Chase Reinhart, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-3.
 Normal West  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .654. That's the best  OBP they've posted all season.
Normal West's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Gibson County,  they are  on  a  four-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 8-4.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Normal West will challenge Centennial at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. As for Gibson County, they will head out to  square off against Milan  at 5:30  p.m.  on Monday.
