Recap: Milton Panthers vs. Pensacola Catholic Crusaders
The Milton Panthers stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They blew past Pensacola Catholic, posting a 61-17 victory on the road. Given Milton's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 113th, while Pensacola Catholic is ranked 598th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Milton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Treymar Jones out in front who scored 17 points. Jones hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Javier Valarezo, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Milton pushed their record up to 13-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Pensacola Catholic, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Milton will take on Pace at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Pace focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Thursday. As for Pensacola Catholic, they will head out on the road to face off against Pensacola Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pensacola Christian Academy is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 65.4 points per game.
